Digital video tapes were a revolution in quality and boasted connectivity to computers for editing thru the Firewire terminal. Apple and Sony both had computers and software rolled out for a new generation of homegrown TV and movie producers, and the long forgotten Amiga brand of computers created the semi-pro graphics solutions for the army of local Cable Access stations that were popping up in almost every community. While the image quality is excellent, the playback of these tapes is tricky, as the recording often has to matched to the original brand of camcorder for a clean picture. We have the top playback equipment for these tapes and the results are usually amazing, although these tapes do display more glitches than other formats, due to the small tape size and IMHO lack of strict quality control during the manufacturing process when the sales of these were at their peak.
